Most of Oviedo's housing stock is late-1990s through 2010s family homes — Alafaya Woods, Twin Rivers, Live Oak Reserve, Stoneybrook — with a smaller pocket of older homes around Mitchell Hammock and the historic east side. The shower-and-tub combos in those builder-grade primary baths were installed quickly and waterproofed inconsistently. The most common Oviedo call we get is the same: "the grout is failing at the shower corner and we think water is getting behind the tile." Usually it is.
That is the work we do well in Oviedo. We open up the failing wall, deal with whatever the original installer did wrong, and rebuild the shower with a real waterproofing system — Go Board or Schluter KERDI — before any finish tile goes back in.
The other Oviedo project we run regularly is replacing wood, laminate, or tired old tile across the main living areas with large-format porcelain. Florida heat plus pets plus kids is hard on flooring. Wood-look porcelain plank and 24x48 or 24x24 porcelain installed flat with a planned layout reads as a serious upgrade and holds up for the long run.
