Tile accent wall in a finished KV Tileworks bathroom remodel
i. What We Install

An accent wall is the easiest way to make a room feel built rather than decorated. We install tile and stone feature surfaces throughout the home — behind vanities, behind freestanding tubs, behind beds, in living rooms, on fireplaces, in entryways, on stair walls, behind the range in a kitchen.

The material matters as much as the layout. We work with fluted tile, large-format porcelain and stone slabs (60×120cm and bigger), zellige and hand-glazed tile, terrazzo, and natural stone slabs. Patterns include herringbone, vertical stack, horizontal stack, Versailles, and book-matched slab installations where the veining flows across multiple panels.

ii. Common Applications

Behind-vanity feature walls. Fluted tile or large-format slab behind the mirror. Pairs especially well with floating vanities and integrated sconces.

Freestanding tub backdrops. A floor-to-ceiling stone or slab wall behind a freestanding tub. A common request in Heathrow and Markham Woods primary suites.

Fireplace surrounds. Full-height tile or stone fireplace surrounds, often using book-matched slabs for a single continuous vein. Hearth detail and mantel coordination included.

Range walls in kitchens. Floor-to-ceiling backsplash behind the range, often paired with a custom hood. Different from a standard backsplash — this is the visual anchor of the kitchen.

Entry and stairwell walls. Stone or large-format porcelain in entries and along stair walls. Subtle texture that catches light.

Adding an Accent Wall

Most accent wall installations take 2 to 5 business days depending on size and material. We will price it as part of a larger project or as a standalone job.
