DeLand is the oldest part of west Volusia, with a downtown historic district and homes that date back to the early 1900s. We approach those projects carefully. A 1915 craftsman in the historic district is not the same animal as a 2008 builder home — the framing is older, the substrates were never designed for modern tile assemblies, and the finishes have to read appropriate to the rest of the house.
That said, we do this work. We are direct with DeLand homeowners about what an old-house bathroom rebuild actually involves — typically framing reinforcement, full re-plumbing of the wet wall, and a substrate plan that respects how the original house was built. The result is a bathroom that fits the home and lasts.
The newer neighborhoods north of DeLand off SR-15A and west toward Glenwood are straightforward 2000s-2020s construction. Standard primary bath remodels, shower replacements, builder backsplashes, and floor tile. Different conversation than a historic-district home, same standards on the work itself.
